This is the classic version of the Opinel No. 08 with a carbon steel blade (XC90 Carbon Steel). This type of steel differs from stainless steel models in its higher carbon content, resulting in greater hardness and cutting capacity. A characteristic of this steel is its susceptibility to corrosion and discoloration. The handle is made of hornbeam wood, varnished and stamped with the specific "Carbone" seal. The knife is equipped with the Virobloc locking ring.
Stands:
- Blade: Used. The surface shows clear signs of oxidation, patina (gray/dark discoloration), and light pitting. This is an inherent characteristic of used carbon steel.
- Handle: Grade B. The wood is structurally sound, but shows several minor dents and scratches in the finish. The black print is clearly visible.
- Mechanism: The locking ring functions correctly and turns smoothly.

We are strict in our assessment, so that upon receipt it can only be a pleasant surprise:
- Grade A: In excellent condition. May show minimal signs of storage or light rubbing on the scales, but is in very good condition.
- Grade B: A fair example. It has normal scratches on the handle or blade from previous use, but is technically 100% sound.
- Grade C: Clearly heavily used. Expect visible scratches, dents, or dull spots. A true work knife.
- Outlet: Here you'll find knives with engravings, heavy wear, or defects. Always check the specific description and photos.

Cleaned & Lubricated
No nasty surprises or stuck tools. Each item is individually inspected and hand-cleaned by us. We remove old grease and grime and treat the pivot point with premium Ballistol oil. You'll receive a knife that's clean, runs smoothly, and is ready for a second life.

We stand behind our products. That's why we offer a standard 12-month warranty on the proper functioning of the mechanism. If, for any reason, you're not satisfied with the knife, you have a 14-day return period .
The warranty covers technical defects not caused by your own fault. For Outlet items, the warranty does not cover defects that were already mentioned/visible at the time of sale.
