An elegant gentleman's knife from French knifemaker Charles Couttier of Thiers. The design combines a classic look with modern technology. The blade is crafted from Swedish Sandvik stainless steel (typically 12C27) and features a subtle recurve in the edge. The handle features dark ebony scales, finished with stainless steel bolsters. The spine of the knife features a stylized mouche (bee) and an open construction. The knife locks using a liner lock mechanism and comes in its own leather sheath.
Stands:
- Blade: Neat condition with the original finish. A few very light smudges are visible in raking light.
- Handle: The ebony is in excellent condition with no cracks. The stainless steel bolsters show minor scratches and snail trails from carrying in the case.
- Mechanism: The liner lock engages securely and the blade opens smoothly.
- Pencil case: The brown leather pencil case is original (with logo), but shows clear signs of use, wear and discolouration on the leather.

We are strict in our assessment, so that upon receipt it can only be a pleasant surprise:
- Grade A: In excellent condition. May show minimal signs of storage or light rubbing on the scales, but is in very good condition.
- Grade B: A fair example. It has normal scratches on the handle or blade from previous use, but is technically 100% sound.
- Grade C: Clearly heavily used. Expect visible scratches, dents, or dull spots. A true work knife.
- Outlet: Here you'll find knives with engravings, heavy wear, or defects. Always check the specific description and photos.
