The Kershaw Leek 1660ST is a slim folding knife designed by Ken Onion. This specific model features a partially serrated blade, which is effective for cutting tough and fibrous materials like rope. The entire knife is made of stainless steel and finished with a matte, bead-blasted finish. The knife utilizes the patented SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, allowing the blade to be opened quickly via the flipper or thumb studs. The lock is a robust frame-lock. At the rear of the handle, there is a secondary slide lock (tip-lock) that prevents the knife from unintentionally opening when closed.
Condition:
- Blade: Very good condition. Both the flat part of the edge and the serrations are intact. No visible oxidation or heavy scratches.
- Handle: Shows light cosmetic signs of use. The bead-blasted steel casing and pocket clip have superficial friction marks (snail trails), which is a known characteristic of this specific finish.
- Mechanism: Mechanically perfect. The SpeedSafe system opens smoothly and powerfully, the frame-lock closes securely, and the tip-lock slider functions correctly.
