The Benchmade Ascent is a true classic from the 1990s, designed as a lightweight alternative to the legendary AFCK. This knife features an ATS-34 steel blade, the gold standard for knife steel at the time. It features a lockback mechanism and a thumbhole for one-handed opening (produced under license from Spyderco). This particular example is a pure "user": the knife has seen plenty of action and bears the scars of use, but the construction and steel remain as strong as ever.
Stands
- Blade: ATS-34 steel with black coating. Shows heavy scratches and wear marks on the finish from intensive use. The partially serrated edge is intact.
- Handle: Black Zytel (glass-reinforced nylon). Good texture, no cracks.
- Clip: The pocket clip is missing from this item.
- Mechanism: The back lock engages with a distinct click. The knife opens smoothly.
